Final preparations for welcoming UCL's new students

17 September 2015

As the enrolment period for new students starts on Wednesday 23 September 2015, UCL Student and Registry Services wanted to provide information for staff to assist in signposting students.

UCL students

From Monday 21 September you will see lots of activity around the Main Quad and Malet Place. For the enrolment period of Wednesday 23 September to Tuesday 6 October, UCL has enrolment activities running in large scale set-ups so we can move the large numbers of students through the enrolment process more easily.

We have two Enrolment Centres in the Main Quad Events Space and the Wilkins Haldane Room where we will enrol all new students based on pre-assigned appointments. Following enrolment students are taken to get their ID Cards from the Engineering Front Building. All new students with Fees and Funding queries can get their issues resolved in the Finance Hub in the Wilkins Garden Room. This large scale event brings teams across UCL to work together to ensure that, as well as getting the administration side of enrolment complete, all new students have a great first experience as a student at UCL.

All new students will be given our 'A to Z' booklet which is designed to help them through their journey as a UCL student. This has all the information to support a student throughout their time at UCL from registering with a doctor, details about IT and Portico to support services available and UCLU links.

The New Students website has lots of information for staff and students about the enrolment process and activities. In the Staff Area you can see the arrangements for this year, a copy of the enrolment timetable and details about the last enrolment date. We also have some useful links which you may like to include in your departmental inductions.

For specific information relating to international students, e.g. Biometric Residence Permits, Police Registration and the International Orientation Programme (ISOP), please refer students to the UCL International Student Support webpages.

UCLU has a number of activities taking place over the enrolment period, for full details students can visit the UCLU 'What's On' webpages.

Throughout the enrolment period there will be lots of student volunteers (in t-shirts and purple sashes) to assist students if they have any queries.
