Formal consultation on proposed changes to the Superannuation Arrangements for the University of London (SAUL) pension scheme

Following discussions between employee and employers' representatives within the SAUL Negotiating Committee (NC) earlier in the year, agreement has been reached on proposed changes to the scheme to ensure its affordability going forward.

Formal consultation on the proposed changes to the Superannuation Arrangements for the University of London (SAUL) pension scheme

UCL is required to now commence a formal statutory consultation on the proposed changes to SAUL with both current and prospective members of the scheme.

The formal consultation period will run from Monday 13 July 2015 through to 13 September 2015.

Affected employees (current members and those with the potential to join SAUL) will be sent a document. This will be by email unless no email address is held by UCL, in which case it will be sent in hard copy.

A dedicated website http://www.saul.org.uk/consultation has been created, and this will enable affected employees to:

  • View a questions and answers section;
  • Use an interactive calculator to help estimate the potential impact on your future benefits; and
  • Provide anonymous feedback to SAUL on the proposed changes.

Affected employees can also respond to the proposed changes via an email to UCL Pension Services pensions@ucl.ac.uk.
