UCL Art Museum: summer pop-up displays in July

We've organised a series of pop-up displays in July, where we'll be getting out prints and drawings from the 1490's to the present day. The pop-up's will be free and drop-in so please do come and visit and see some of the treasures we have in the collection.

Pop-up display: Old Masters' Collections

Friday 3 July, 1pm-5pm

Join us on Friday 3 July for a Pop-Up display of Old Master prints and drawings. We've got some jewels of pieces by artists such as Durer, Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Rubens and others. Come and get up close and personal with the art work in this unique and intimate setting.

Pop-up display: Flaxman Collection

Wednesday 8 July, 1pm-5pm

Join us on Wednesday 8 July for a Pop-Up display of prints, drawings and plaster casts by the artist John Flaxman (1755-1826). The Flaxman Collection at UCL contains the largest single group of works by Flaxman, and includes plaster models, drawings and prints. Flaxman was acknowledged as the the leading sculptor in England during his lifetime and achieved an international reputation. His sculptural work ranged from gigantic monuments celebrating the live of national heroes such as Horatio Nelson, to modest and touching memorials for ordinary people.

Pop-up display: Slade Artists' Collection

Wednesday 22 July, 1pm-5pm

Join us on Wednesday 22 July for a Pop-Up display of work by artists who have studied and taught at the Slade School of Fine Art. The UCL Art Museum collections have always been used as teaching and reference collections for students at the world famous Slade. We have an amazing array of prints, drawings and paintings from artists including Dora Carrington, Gwen and Augustus John, Winifred Knights, Stanley Spencer and Paula Rego. So come along and take inspiration from their works as they found their creative footing in the boxes of prints and drawings from our collection.
