The competition gives graduate students and staff from all faculties the chance to show off their aesthetically-appealing research images. Previous winners have come from all across the university.

These images will be exhibited in the South Cloisters in the week beginning 6 December. A £250 prize will be awarded to the best entry, along with six runner-up prizes of £150. The deadline for submissions is 15 November.

Professor David Bogle, Head of the Graduate School, commented on the competition: "The Graduate School's Research Images Competition is a wonderful community event for our graduate students and staff. Each year it produces a wealth of interesting and beautiful images, highlighting the diversity of the exciting research being undertaken across UCL."
