  • Jeremy Bentham, the spiritual founder of UCL, has been given another chance to live - at least virtually - with the help of a blog published on Nature Network London last week.

Now that he has completed computer training, he will give his philosophical views on hot topics in science.

'Bentham's Blog, Thinking inside the box' was launched only last week, and Bentham has already introduced himself from within his glass case in UCL's South Cloisters, where he sits in permanent residence.

He has already been warmly welcomed to the blogosphere by  philosophers, scientists, and other well-wishers. Dr Michael Quinn from UCL Bentham Project told UCL's weekly news podcast more about the sort of scientific projects he believed Bentham would be addressing in the blog. From nanotechnology through to scientific ethics, Bentham has a great deal to add to contemporary scientific debate, he argues.
