Helium – its uses and why it is critical

“About a bit over a third of the world's helium supply comes from the Gulf and from Qatar... We're so reliant on the Gulf.. and so prices have become much more volatile,” said Professor Andrea Sella (UCL Chemistry), noting the conflict’s impact on helium supply.
