Medical imaging breakthrough could transform cancer and arthritis diagnosis

A hand-held scanner developed by Professor Paul Beard (UCL Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering) can generate detailed 3D photoacoustic images in seconds, paving the way for their use in a clinical setting and offering the potential for earlier disease diagnosis.
