Bipolar disorder: how lithium as a treatment fell out of favour

Professor Joseph Hayes (UCL Psychiatry) said: “We’ve set up a mental healthcare service that makes it quite difficult to initiate lithium [...] There are clinicians who believe they can’t safely prescribe it”.
