Electricity prices dictated by gas producers who provide less than half of UK electricity

Natural gas is the main driver of electricity prices across Europe confirms research led by Professor Michael Grubb (UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources). Despite gas now providing under half of the total electricity in the UK, it set electricity costs 84% of the time.
