Why does the solar wind stay so hot?

A simulation study led by PhD student Jeffersson Agudelo with Dr Daniel Verscharen (both UCL Space & Climate Physics) suggests solar winds may stay hot due to a constantly occurring, 100km-wide magnetic reconnection.
