Screening for ovarian cancer did not reduce deaths

A large-scale trial of annual screening for ovarian cancer, led by Professor Usha Menon and Professor Mahesh Parmar (both MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL), did not succeed in reducing deaths from the disease, despite one of the screening methods tested detecting cancers earlier.
