Research suggests Stonehenge bluestones arrived over land

Chemical analysis suggests that the Stonehenge blocks came from near Abergavenny, meaning it is unlikely that the stones were taken on rafts on the Bristol Avon. Dr Robert Ixer (UCL Archaeology), who co-authored the study says: “This totally destroys the raft theory".
