Risk of multiple strokes higher for smokers

A Chinese study of 3,069 stroke survivors has found that smoking post-stroke increases the likelihood of having another one, while quitting cuts the risk by 29 per cent. Professor Allan Hackshaw (UCL Cancer Institute) explains why.
