Antibiotic-resistant genes are found in London's rivers, canals and ponds

A study led by Dr Lena Ciric (UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering) has found antibiotic-resistant genes in the Thames, Regent's Canal, Regent's Park Pond and the Serpentine lake in Hyde Park.
