A programme developed at UCL can sort x-rayed images of artworks and reveal painted-over masterpieces. “Probably around one third of Van Gogh’s paintings contain concealed images waiting to be discovered,” explains Dr Miguel Rodrigues (UCL Electronic and Electrical Engineering).
