Six pence drug could keep Alzheimer's patients out of care homes

A study led by Professor Rob Howard (UCL Psychiatry) has found that withdrawing the commonly-prescribed Alzheimer's disease drug, donepezil, from people in the advanced stages of the disease doubles their risk of being placed in a nursing home within a year.
