Celebrate 2024 with festive events on campus!

UCL Campus Experience & Infrastructure (CE&I) and the Students’ Union UCL (SU) are pleased to announce that they are co-hosting a Winter Festival, which includes performances, a light show, music and seasonal food and drinks over two days this December on the Bloomsbury campus.

• Date: Tuesday, 3 December and Wednesday, 4 December
• Time: 11am until 8pm
• Location: The Quad (Bloomsbury)

Get ready for a fun-filled celebration on campus with a variety of activities designed to bring joy and excitement to all attendees.

Activities

• Carnival Games

Have fun challenging your friends at carnival games and winning prizes.

• Light Show

Experience the magic of our light show running from 4-8pm on both days, with dazzling displays every hour.

*Please note that the light show includes flashing lights and visual effects that may be intense or triggering for some attendees.

• Festive Performances

Enjoy festive performances by our talented Students’ Union societies, adding a touch of holiday spirit to the event.

• Photo Moments

Capture the memories with our giant sleigh! Gather your friends and take a photo to celebrate the first term at UCL.

• Festive Market with Hazaar and UCL's The Hatchery

Come by on Wednesday, 4 December from 11am–4pm, for a festive market with Hazaar and UCL's The Hatchery in the Cloisters! Discover unique gifts for the season or treat yourself and support fellow students.

Food and Drink

• Warm up with a hot chocolate and enjoy a selection of delicious festive treats, including juicy smashed burgers provided by Gather & Gather, or enjoy sweet waffles with indulgent toppings by the SU, and other mouth-watering seasonal snacks on the Quad.

The catering outlets will be open on both days, Tuesday, 3 December and Wednesday, 4 December, from 11am to 8pm and is provided by Students’ Union UCL and Gather & Gather (Food at UCL). Vegan options will be available.

This event is free and open to all UCL students and staff.

Please be aware that UCL's main Quad has a limited capacity. If necessary, places at this event will be limited and access will be granted by security on a first come, first served basis to manage crowd control and safety at the event. Tickets do not guarantee entry.

The entrance and exit to the event will be via the main gates to the Quad between 4-8pm. Other entrances, such as the Cloisters, will be closed. No other entry to the Quad will be granted, unless you are a localised building user, arriving or leaving for academic reasons. Where possible, we suggest you enter the Wilkins Building via South Junction, or the Student Centre.

“We are thrilled to have crafted an exciting events plan with the SU and host this final event in the Quad before the Bicentennial physical works begin. It’s a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate the festive period.
