Employee Assistance Programme: Staff Support Service is now live

26 September 2022

From today, Monday 26 September, UCL staff will have access to a new support and information service from Spectrum.Life. This service has replaced the previous Care First Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). There will also be changes to the SilverCloud online CBT service.

Group of UCL staff

UCL have partnered with Spectrum.Life, an industry leading, confidential, support service. Spectrum.Life provides emotional, in the moment support, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Spectrum’s Information Services provision has specific and qualified experts, including financial and tax advisers for Financial Wellbeing issues and Parenting Coaches.

Spectrum’s offering also includes an extensive wellbeing app providing holistic wellbeing support from recipes, to sleep advice, daily guided meditation to live and on demand exercise classes.

Note for users of the SilverCloud service

The SilverCloud online CBT service will be offered as part of the new Staff Support Service. When you contact the service a mental health consultation will take place to offer in the moment support with a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist, who will determine your suitability for the SilverCloud programmes.

After 5pm on Friday 30 September, no new sign-ups to UCL's current SilverCloud service will be accepted, and staff should use the Employee Assistance Programme: Staff Support Service to access online CBT support.

Existing users of SilverCloud will still be able to log in and access their accounts until 31 December 2022, to allow them to continue and complete any work they may be doing. On 1 January 2023 the technical team will delete the service from our main servers, including any historical data. After a further 90 days, all data will be removed from our backup files as well. You will be notified when the first deletion takes place, and the backup files will automatically be removed 90 days after that time.
