HS2 works to take place near Gordon Square from 5–21 December

28 November 2022

Roadworks around Gordon Square will start on Monday 5 December and are anticipated to last until around Wednesday 21 December. Telecommunication utilities are being diverted as part of the HS2 works to expand Euston Station.

The work will be undertaken by two teams, hired by HS2, working concurrently. The first team will start at Byng Place and work north up Gordon Square to the junction with Endsleigh Place. The second team will start at Upper Woburn Place and work east to the junction with Gordon Square.

The work will include breaking the road hardtop, trenching, cable laying and backfilling. Noise from work areas will be suppressed through the use of acoustic blankets.

UCL has been advised by the contractors that the works will cause minimal disruption, however if you have any concerns about the work, please contact HS2 on freephone 08081 434 434 or email HS2enquiries@hs2.org.uk. These works are not being undertaken on UCL's behalf, and we cannot guarantee that either the start or end date is not delayed.
