Study spaces available at Bidborough House and Torrington Place

29 October 2020

If you're looking for a space to study on campus but your usual spots are booked up, have a look at these alternatives.

Bidborough House

To make sure that you can find a space to study on campus if you need one, UCL has opened up additional spaces in Bidborough House on Bidborough Street (just opposite the British Library on Euston Road), and 1-19 Torrington Place (just off Tottenham Court Road, opposite Planet Organic).

To use a space, you must book through the online booking system. You can currently book two time slots per day, 14 days in advance.

Both buildings are a 5-10 minute walk from campus and within easy reach of most UCL Halls of Residence. If you are travelling in to campus, the closest tube station for Bidborough House is Kings Cross St Pancras and we recommend using Tottenham Court Road for 1-19 Torrington Place.

The spaces are available to all UCL students and staff. You must follow the university’s Keeping Safe on Campus guidelines to protect yourself and others on campus. When you arrive at the building, you will also need to check in on arrival through the booking system. More guidance is available on the Library Services webpages.

There are 168 study spaces in Bidborough House and 140 spaces in 1-19 Torrington Place, adding to a maximum safe capacity of 1045 socially distance study spaces across UCL (this number depends on the day/time due to differences in opening hours).

Please check the Library Services Opening Hours before travelling.
