81% of UCL students are satisfied with the quality of their course

Like the sector as a whole, overall satisfaction at UCL has fallen by 1%. However, satisfaction with Learning Opportunities and Learning Resources, Assessment and Feedback, Academic Support and Student Voice have continued to increase.

Professor Anthony Smith, UCL Vice-Provost (Education & Student Affairs), said:

"This has been an exceptionally challenging time for our students, whose studies have been impacted by periods of industrial action and of course the coronavirus pandemic.  We listen carefully to their concerns and their feedback helps shape all that we do.  It is encouraging to see students increasingly satisfied with academic support, assessment and feedback and learning resources where we have invested time and resources.'

 Ashley Slanina-Davies, Education Officer at the Students’ Union UCL, said:

It’s great to see that our partnership with the university is making a positive impact on the student experience. We’re particularly pleased to see that since 2018 there has been a big jump of 7.4% in the number of students agreeing that the Students’ Union effectively represents students’ academic interests. We are here to support students and elevate their voices, so I would like to thank students for all of the many different ways in which they have engaged with the union throughout the past year. As the union moves forward we remain committed to building on the progress made so far to ensure all students feel seen and represented.

Professor Smith added: "69% of our final year undergraduates took part in NSS 2020 – I’d like to thank every student for their feedback. Such a high response is also tribute to the hard work of UCL staff to engage with their students and let them know that we are listening."
