UCL Eugenics Inquiry: Town Hall meeting on 11 October 2019

27 September 2019

A Town Hall meeting for UCL staff and students, hosted by the inquiry panel for UCL's Eugenics Inquiry, will take place on 11 October 2019 in the AV Hill Lecture Theatre. Undergraduate students are also invited to take part in focus groups as part of the Inquiry.

UCL Front Quad and Portico

UCL has launched an inquiry into the history of eugenics at UCL, which is being led by an independent chair, Professor Iyiola Solanke of the University of Leeds. At this Town Hall meeting, members of the Inquiry will present an interim summary of their findings so far, and discuss some of the trends, patterns and questions thrown up by their research.

Please note that, as the Inquiry is ongoing and due to complete at the end of this year, no final conclusions or recommendations will be presented.

The Town Hall will take place from 3–5pm on 11 October 2019, in the Medical Sciences AV Hill Lecture Theatre (please note that the venue for the event has changed). You can reserve your ticket via Eventbrite.

There are also some spaces left for undergraduate students on the Inquiry’s lunch-hour focus groups on 16 and 24 October 2019. For more information about the focus groups, and to book, see here.

If you would like to participate in the Eugenics Inquiry by completing the survey, you can do so here (UCL sign-in required).
