We need your help to find UCL’s next Provost

19 July 2019

The current UCL President and Provost, Michael Arthur, will be stepping down at the start of the 2020/21 academic year, and we need your help to find the next Provost.

We need your help to find UCL’s next Provost

As part of the selection process for the next Provost, UCL’s Council would like to invite UCL students to take part in a focus group (date and time below). This focus group will offer participants the opportunity to contribute their views on:

  • the vision, ambitions and particular opportunities for UCL as we build upon our current position and strengths
  • the principal challenges (internal to UCL and externally) that we will collectively have to face in the next ten years
  • the values which underpin everything that we do and how they should be reflected in the next President and Provost
  • the kind of background, experience and characteristics that we wish to identify in the next President and Provost

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the recruitment process. It will be fully confidential to the participants. The principal themes, and any debates, will be captured and considered fully.

The focus group is being run by a Joint Committee of UCL Council and Academic Board, along with the search firm Perrett Laver, who are assisting with the search and selection process. The focus group will take place on Tuesday, 30 July 2019 from 11.00am – 12.00pm in the Council Room, South Wing.

If you would like to participate please email Anne Marie O’Mullane, Assistant Secretary to Council, to book a place. Refreshments will be provided.

You are also welcome to send your comments and any suggestions about potential candidates directly to Perrett Laver.
