The UCL Staff Singing Club has proved to be a fantastic source of fun and improved wellbeing for its members.

UCL Staff Singing Club receives great feedback from members

Everyone is welcome at the UCL Staff Singing Club – and you don’t need to be able to read music. We had around 70 members last term from all across UCL and we'd love to get 100 singing this term.

Here is what some of our Singing Club members have said about their experience of joining UCL Staff Singing Club:

"I have really enjoyed the last term, as always. It’s a great break away from the office and I always miss it when I can’t attend or there is a gap in sessions!" – Abi Roberston

"I have thoroughly enjoyed singing at the club with Gitika in the past few months. It is easy and fun to follow her dynamic way of conducting and teaching the choir. Body movements to go with the tunes and tempos of the songs are a highlight of my day at work which is a welcome break from desktop tasks. The opportunity to sing with other UCL colleagues also helps me connect with people outside my immediate work environment. Apart from that, my singing techniques grow, as does my confidence to sing and speak in public." – Naomi Jiehua.

"The Singing Club is just so much fun! Gitika’s arrangements are wonderful and she is such an inspiration. To be able to sing my heart out for an hour on Tuesday lunchtimes with a group of like-minded people is nothing less than joyous, and has had an immeasurable impact on my wellbeing. In summary: I love it!” – Faith Hanstater.

"The staff singing choir is great for your peace of mind – it gets you up out of your office chair, together with a group of people, singing old and new tunes! Even if you can’t sing, or the thought of singing brings back painful and/or distant childhood memories, Gitika’s enthusiasm and careful direction will have you humming along in no time." – Eliot Hoving.
