UCL 2019 International Festival

15 February 2019

UCL's 2019 International Festival will take place Monday 25 February to Friday 1 March. Join us for a week of events that will bring together the UCL community and celebrate sharing cultures and traditions from across the world!

UCL International Festival 2019

This UCL-wide event is jointly organised by Students’ Union UCL and the International Student Support team and aims to promote UCL’s multicultural identity and its global activities, encourage knowledge and ‘cross cultural exchange’, and make international students feel part of UCL’s community.

There will be daily screenings of internationally themed films, different international cuisines served in various food outlets around UCL, dance performances, food stalls, quizzes and more! The Festival will end on Friday 1 March with a large event showcasing UCL’s multicultural character and global activities in the Front Quad and surrounding areas.

More information about the festival and activities is available on the Students' Union UCL website. We will gradually be adding events for the International Festival week on this page.

Host your own international event

We are currently looking for students to actively take part in the Festival and host their own events. This can be anything from language workshops, talks, stall, performances or ‘taster’ sessions that can introduce others to your country, culture, language or society.

If you have any suggestions or would like to be involved by putting forward an event, contact us by emailing Dan on D.Fow@ucl.ac.uk.

Share your experience

Your Welfare and International Officer, Rothna is planning to create an exhibition full of experiences of international students on campus and personal accounts of what you all, as international students at UCL, would like people to be mindful of.

Rothna’s example is: “I would appreciate if people could ask me how to pronounce my name rather than assume.”

You can tell us your experiences and what you think people should be aware or mindful of by completing this online form.
