Critical Realism Reading Group

27 September 2018

All students and staff are welcome to the free open Critical Realism reading group, 5.30-7.30 on alternate Thursday evenings through the autumn and spring terms, starting 4 October.

Critical Realism Reading Group

Sessions cover basic concepts in critical realism, connecting positivist and interpretive approaches, four planes of social being, and researching transformative change.

Critical realism can be useful in all topics and theories of social research. Examples of how critical realism concepts can be applied in practical research will cover a range of disciplines. There will be time for students to talk at each meeting about their own work.

To register contact Bob Grist (Assistant Programme Administrator). You can then access moodle, which gives advanced details about each meeting. If you have any queries please contact Priscilla Alderson (Professor Emerita of Childhood Studies).
