All staff GDPR training: Launch
5 September 2018
President and Provost, Professor Michael Arthur, announces the launch of the UCL GDPR online training.
Following my announcement in the Week@UCL on 23 August, I am pleased to announce the launch of the UCL GDPR online training. The GDPR Programme team have developed this training with the aim of providing a general overview of the Data Protection Legislation, and I would like to remind you that this is mandatory training for all payroll staff, Honoraries, and PHD students. If you have contractors in your areas who have access to or who handle personal data, they must complete the training. The deadline for completion is 31 October 2018.
We expect that, including reading time, this training should take between 25 and 35 minutes; please note that you are able to leave and return to the training and resume from where you left off, should you require.
The training has been tested across multiple platforms, however, it is recommended that this training is completed using the latest version of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Firefox. The training is accessible on tablet devices and mobile phones.
There has been a last-minute technical issue with compatibility with JAWS. It is expected that this will be resolved shortly, however, the GDPR programme is making provisions to have the course material printed in braille as well as being converted into a PDF workbook, which is compatible with JAWS as an interim solution. The GDPR team will be available for a 1-2-1 session with those with visual impairments to assist them with completing the training.
Subtitles have been provided with all of the videos.
The GDPR programme has set up prizes for the Division that has all of its payroll staff complete the training before 31 October deadline.
1st Place: £1,000 award to the division for a staff event
2nd Place: £850 award to the division for a staff event
3rd Place: £500 award to the division for a staff event
Good luck to all divisions!
