Instagram user? Take part in this online study

Instagram is the third most popular social media platform, with over 800 million monthly users.

Instagram study A team of students on the MSc Psychological Sciences course at UCL would like to investigate how Instagram usage is associated with narcissistic traits and self-esteem - and need you to take part! 

What will it involve? 

This study aims to explore the relationship between Instagram use, narcissism, and self-esteem, through various questions addressing Instagram behaviours, individual beliefs of self, and general thoughts and behaviours. 

This is an online study in which participants will complete a short survey that should not take longer than 15 minutes to complete. You will also be asked to answer numerous demographic questions. 

Who is it for?

Anyone over the age of 18 years is eligible to participate. We would advise those who do not have an Instagram account to not take part in this research.

Additional information

Participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You will be contributing towards important academic research in understanding mechanisms behind the use of social media and how it is related to mood (self-esteem) and personality disorders (narcissism).
