Call for expressions of interest - new role as Provost's Envoy for Gender Equality

28 September 2017

UCL currently has a university Silver Athena SWAN award and is seeking to renew it in November 2018.

UCL Quad statue This will help us to keep UCL's status as a sector leader on gender equality.

We are in the process of reconstituting the Self-Assessment Team who oversee the process. We are now looking for an exceptional individual from the academic community to chair meetings of this team in this academic year, and to help us generate extra input to, and visibility of, the Athena SWAN process across UCL.

The successful candidate is likely to be a Professor who can demonstrate a longstanding commitment to and understanding of Athena SWAN, ideally by having led on SWAN activities in their department.

If you are interested in the Envoy role, please send an expression of interest of no more than 500 words to provosts.office@ucl.ac.uk explaining why you consider that you have the skills and knowledge to undertake this role effectively. The role should be supported by your line manager and considered as a significant enabling role.

I particularly encourage applicants from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and Disabled applicants as they are currently underrepresented in leadership roles at UCL.

Professor Michael Arthur, UCL President and Provost
