UCL Accommodation Welcome Campaign 2017-2018

The student-focussed welcome campaign had student accommodation ambassadors and the live-in student resident advisors at its core. Both played a critical role in helping new residents settle into their new home, UCL and London itself.

The welcome campaign was themed around the butterfly, which is a symbol of transformation as our students enter a new stage of their lives here at UCL.

For the first time, free to use UCL Accommodation Tuk Tuk's were present at most sites during the weekend of the 23 and 24 September.

The Tuk Tuk's ferried students from their halls to various locations including main campus, the UCL Health Centre for registration and nearby attractions.

To celebrate the arrival of new residents, Welcome House Parties were organised at 4pm on the 24th September across all UCL halls.

Residents enjoyed live music from the likes of Belle and the Boots and Mariachi Las Adelitas, delicious food and life-sized video games from Tetris to Space Invaders amongst other activities.

The parties created an ideal environment for residents to socialise, meet fellow house mates and hopefully friends for life.
