UCL Professional Services strengthens senior leadership team
2 March 2017
Two new directors have been appointed within UCL Professional Services - taking leadership of Human Resources and Communications and Marketing.
Fiona Ryland has been appointed Executive Director of Human Resources, with effect from 24 April 2017.
Fiona is an experienced HR Director who will be joining us from Compass Group, where she is currently HR Director (UK & Ireland) and prior to this held the role of HR Director (Operations).
In addition to this Fiona is a member of the Confederation of British Industry's Employment and Skills Board, and a trustee of several charities. She is passionate about helping young people at the start of their careers, for example through apprenticeship programmes, as well as creating inclusivity within organisations.
Fiona commented: "I am very excited to be joining a world class university that was founded on a principle that education should be for everyone."
Collette Lux has been appointed Director of Communications & Marketing (CAM) at UCL, with effect from 1 March 2017.
Collette's wide-ranging career includes senior marketing and communications roles in both the private and public sectors encompassing Unilever, BBC, the UK government's Department for Education & Skills and, most recently, King's College London where she has worked for the past five years.
Collette said: "I am thrilled to be joining UCL at such an exciting time and to have the opportunity to support the delivery of UCL 2034, leading CAM to further enhance the university's profile and reputation across key audiences including prospective and current students, staff, employers and institutional partners, as well as maintaining and developing our media profile."
Although based in central Professional Services, Collette is eager to foster closer collaboration with faculties and strategic offices, building a stronger UCL together.
