UCL student shortlisted for prestigious national film award

Spiritual Flavours, a three-split screen film that explores spirituality and cooking in three different faith communities in one area of west London, is nominated for the 'Utopia Award: Imagining our futures' category.

The film is one part of a collaborative arts project that explores ideas of inheritance, tradition and belief by documenting spirituality and religious practices.

"Having been shortlisted for the award is a fantastic recognition and motivation to push the project further," said Laura.

The awards celebrate short films that have been made about the arts and humanities and their influence on our lives.

Hundreds of films were submitted for the awards, and the winner of each category, to be announced on 10 November at a special ceremony at BAFTA London, will receive £2,000 towards their film-making.
