If you're going to be in London with a bit of spare time on your hands this summer, volunteering is a great way to give something back, meet people and even enhance your CV.

UCLU's Volunteering Services Unit has a wide range of flexible activities on offer to suit your availability and interests, including children's literacy projects, summer play schemes, community festivals, social research, healthy lifestyle projects, museums and more.

There are also lots of one-off charity events where you just register and turn up. It's a great chance to get more involved with London life, and meet new people whilst making a difference. Who knows where it might lead?
