Launch of new UCL International Student Support website

Following a redesign, the new International Student Support website is now live and can be accessed at

ucl.ac.uk/iss">www.ucl.ac.uk/iss. As well as the upgrade to a new mobile responsive format, the site now offers additional sections and a clearer, more accessible layout. The news feature on the home page will communicate relevant information and items of interest to students which will include, but not be limited to, immigration updates.

New sections include the following:

· Information for students arriving late to UCL

· Dedicated area with resources and guidance for staff

· Information on British culture and adapting to life in the UK

· Information for students with families

· Safety and security

· Right to Rent checks

· Accommodation options

· Explanation of how UCL works including a UCL glossary

Information about the International Student Orientation Programme (ISOP) for September 2016 is now available at www.ucl.ac.uk/iss/orientation. The official dates will vary depending on the type of student and there is a specific section for affiliate, undergraduate and graduate students. Please refer your new international students starting in September 2016 to these pages where appropriate.

ISOP is organised by the International Student Support team to help make the transition into life in the UK and studying at UCL as smooth as possible for new students. As part of ISOP, students have the opportunity to enrol early, attend a full programme of talks called 'We Are All Global' and participate in a variety of social events organised by UCLU. ISOP is free of charge and students will register during online pre-enrolment. Although ISOP is optional, it is highly recommended that students attend. Further information about the sessions will be added to the website shortly.
