On Monday 14 March, the Vietnamese Society will be hosting the second annual Vietnamese Cultural Festival (Vietfest).

Vietfest 2016

Sponsored by the Vietnamese Embassy and organised throughout the academic year, Vietfest aims to introduce Vietnamese cultures to students and staff as part of a diverse UCL.

As Vietnamese Society President An Do explained, "Vietfest is an annual festival by the UCLU Vietnamese society, with a purpose to showcase Vietnamese culture, art, and cuisine. The festival is free-entry and everyone can watch the performances for free!"

What can you expect?

Food. From 12pm, six famous Vietnamese restaurants in London with different regional culinary specialities will be in UCL's Main Quad as well as stalls serving bubble tea, providing a unique opportunity for you to enjoy the renowned cuisine, endorsed by Gordon Ramsay!

Performance. While you eat you can enjoy special cultural performances ranging from traditional and modern dances, songs imbrued with pride and nostalgia to exquisite music of traditional instruments. The show is held on the centre of Main Quad at 1-2pm and 4-5pm, and everyone is welcomed to join: there must be no limits in cultural exploration!

Arts and Crafts. Apart from those exciting main events, there would also be 'Arts and Crafts' stalls and a photo exhibition in the Front Quad Marquee that showcases the idyllic atmosphere of Vietnam in the past, along with exciting traditional games - a side with much hidden beauty, history and culture that are rarely known.
