UCL examinations timetable update: change to planned publication date

26 February 2016

The main UCL examinations period this year runs from 28 April to 27 May for undergraduate students and 28 April to 9 June for postgraduates.

Students in class Your examinations will take place at some point within these dates.

UCL Student and Registry Services has been working throughout this term in order to get the examinations timetable out earlier than ever before. This has been in response to UCLU's request on behalf of students for an earlier publication of the timetable (in the past, it was always the last day of the second term).

We have been aiming for Monday 29 February 2016 and although we have made significant progress, the timetable will not be ready for publication on Monday. We will update you as soon as possible on our progress with the timetable.

Organising UCL's examinations is a major undertaking, with more than 2,000 exams and 80,000 exam sittings to fit in, avoiding clashes and doing what we can to spread examinations out and taking account of any special arrangement needs for those students who require them.

We are not aware of another university that delivers so many exams at one time in the summer exam period. We always check the draft timetable with your academic departments to provide a double-check in order to minimise changes once the timetable has gone live.

We will publish the examinations timetable as soon as we possibly can and we are confident that this will be earlier than normal. We apologise that we have not been able to get your timetable to you by the original target date in spite of all our efforts.
