Seven questions with Cheuk Pun Hung

What does your role involve and how long have you been at UCL? What was your previous role?

I have been working at UCL since 2003. My current job as House Manager of Astor College is to ensure the achievement of quality standards of cleaning and maintenance, financial targets and customer satisfaction.

As a member of the Residences team, I am involved in the assessment of equipment, materials and service provision prior to purchase. My previous role was as a Residence Assistant.

What working achievement or initiative are you most proud of?

I am most proud of being one of the UCL Green Champions and the fact that UCL Student Accommodation achieved a Bronze Green Impact Award in our first year.

Tell us about a project you are working on now which is top of your to-do list?

I am a member of the design team of the Astor College Project, which involves the major refurbishment and extension of Astor College.

At the moment, the top of my to-do list is to check all the health and safety records in Astor College and make sure everything is accurate and up-to-date.

What was your first job straight out of university?

This one - I finished my studies at UCL and got a job straight out of university.

What is your favourite and least favourite thing about London?

My favourite thing has to be London's multicultural society.

My least favourite thing about the city is the peak-hours commute (even when I was cycling).

Who would be your dream dinner guests?

Sir David Attenborough - I am huge fan of his.

What would it surprise people to know about you?

I am a UCL Biochemical Engineering graduate, which means I practically haven't left UCL since I arrived!
