28 July 2015

Are you interested in medical research? Do you want to be part of a study that has the potential to help those who suffer from asthma? Participants will be awarded £10 for your participation.

Participants needed for paid research study on the effects of an asthma inhaler

Nowadays, asthma is very common disease in Europe. The UK ranks among the countries with the most people suffering from asthma. In London, around one out of ten people is diagnosed with asthma. Asthma is a chronic long term condition that can be managed, but not cured. High quality medication is therefore of particular importance.

This study looks at the taste and effects of an asthma inhaler in a healthy sample. After reading the study information and answering some questions to check inclusion criteria via this website https://jfe.qualtrics.com/form/SV_3ygFGOl32gvnzPT, researchers will arrange an appointment at UCL School of Pharmacy to undertake the testing in the lab.

Testing will include completing questionnaires, measuring your heart rate and breathing rate and the use of the inhaler for one time. The study will last just over an hour.

If you are interested please follow the link mentioned above. For further information please contact Tamara Beyer or Sarah Chapman or call 020 7874 1288.

This study is conducted by Tamara Beyer as part of an internship at the UCL School of Pharmacy, supervised by Dr Sarah Chapman. The study has been approved by UCL research ethics committee; project ID Number 7073/002. All data will be collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
