Participants needed for a study on falls and walking

The aim of this research is to understand how errors in vision and movement contribute to falls.

Participants needed for a study on falls and walking  To do this, researchers will ask you to step on a target as accurately as possible. The target will be a light on the floor in front of you, located at a comfortable stepping distance. 

What would taking part involve?

Taking part in this study will involve one session of two hours.​ Participants will be paid £10 per hour.

Researchers will record the position of your body, the forces you exert on the ground and your eye movements while you take a step. All techniques used are non-invasive.

Location

The testing session will take place at: 5th Floor, 33 Queen Square, London, WC1N 3BG.

Am I eligible?

You are eligible if:

  • You are OVER 18-years old
  • You DO NOT have any known neurological, sensory, muscular or orthopaedic disorder
  • You DO NOT use glasses or varifocal contact lenses during everyday walking
