Closure dates

The UCL Mail Service will close at 3pm on Wednesday 23 December and re-open at 7am on Monday 4 January. There will be no access to the UCL Post Room between these dates. The last collection of departmental post will take place between 12pm and 1:30pm on Wednesday 23 December to ensure dispatch on the last working day.

Bulk mailings

The UCL Mail Service will accept bulk mailings up to and including Friday 18th December. After this date no bulk mailings will be accepted without prior consultation with the Mail Services Manager (Steve Shine ext. 41911, s.shine@ucl.ac.uk).

In common with previous years the Post Room expect a very substantial amount of additional mail in the pre-Christmas period as Departments clear their desks for the seasonal break, creating an increase in demand on the postal service.

Personal items

Let me please remind all staff that UCL's mail service is not to be used for personal mail and parcels. The Post Room will not frank or dispatch personal items and any suspected abuse of the service will be investigated.

UCL Postroom Christmas card

The UCL Postroom produce a Christmas card every year to raise money for a charity close to our hearts. This year we are supporting 'sands', who offer support for those affected by stillbirth and neonatal death and would like to give you the opportunity to do the same via our 'just giving' page www.justgiving.com/uclxmascard Or if you prefer, drop a coin in the jar in the Post Room - all of which will be received with thanks.

May we take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.

Steve Shine, Mail Services Manager, UCL Estates
