Studies on frequent alcohol consumption above government limits

17 October 2014

£7 in cash or an Amazon voucher at study completion for eligible participants.

Glass of wine

We are studying patterns of alcohol consumption among university students and risks associated with this. If you are a frequent drinker and regularly drink more than the government recommended maximum amount of alcohol per day (more than 4 units/day for men, or more than 3 units/day for women), you may be able to help us with our research into drinking patterns.

We think you will find the studies interesting, but equally they will help us understand thoughts, feelings and behaviours in heavy drinkers which we hope will have implications for public health related to alcohol use.

The studies involve either attending an experimental session and being contacted for a brief follow-up phone call or completing an online experiment and two brief online follow ups. The studies provide you with either a £7 cash gift (for in-person experiments) or a £7 gift Amazon voucher (online experiment). Alternatively you can be awarded course credit for participating if you're eligible.

To find out more email alcoholstudyucl@gmail.com. If you are eligible we will contact you to let you know which study/studies are available to participate in. Thanks in advance for considering being involved!
