Calling for a volunteer with a global perspective

3 October 2014

Are you a student with some international experience which you'd be willing to share with UCL as we develop our new international - or global engagement - strategy? Maybe you've done a year abroad, or are an international postgrad, or have enjoyed UCL's Global Citizenship programme, if so we'd like to hear from you.

Email vpi.global@ucl.ac.uk by 10 October to say, in 500 words or less,  why you'd be a great student participant in a small group being set up by the Vice Provost International, Nicola Brewer.

We want UCL's new global engagement strategy to be something that feels relevant to and excites our students. So we're keen to involve you in a variety of ways in designing it. For this particular opportunity, we're interested in your own personal ideas - we're not asking you to represent any part of the student body: we hope to get UCLU's input to the consultation process (look out for more news about open consultation events this term), and more contributions from the SABs, for that.

We're not looking for any formal, representative function because this is going to be a temporary and informal group. It will meet 2 or 3 times a term in the Wilkins Building, for an hour and a half or so each time,  for the next 2 terms (only).  It will be a sounding board for the consultation plans and a test bed for proposals emerging from the consultation.

No prizes, no academic credits, but it will give you a chance to interact with 3 of UCL's most dynamic Deans, and to say on your CV that you have experience of how strategy is created. If that appeals to you, please do apply.
