Class of 2013: Leaving UCL - now what?

23 May 2013

UCL Careers Service will hold Class of 2013 Week between Tuesday 28 May and Friday 31 May.

Careers image (square) Dedicated to UCL's 2013 graduates, it will equip them with useful knowledge and practical guidance to help them on their way after graduation.

As one of this year's graduates, Class of 2013 Week will give you the opportunity to:

  • meet employers with current vacancies at the UCL Jobs Market
  • attend workshops covering job search strategies
  • learn how to market yourself effectively on a CV
  • speak to a careers consultant about your particular situation.

The UCL Jobs Market will take place on Thursday 30 May (2:30pm to 4:30pm).

It will provide a chance to meet employers who are recruiting for jobs, internships and graduate schemes, from sectors including media, marketing, technology, engineering, retail, charities and finance.

After last year's Jobs Market one recruiter contacted me directly to request my CV. I interviewed shortly afterwards and was offered a permanent role.

Some confirmed employers who will be taking part include Arcadia, Bio Med Central, Bloomberg, BAE Systems, Barnardos, CapCo, Colas Rail (Sponsors), Frontier Economics, Oliver Wyman, PwC and P&G.

"The Jobs Market event is a brilliant way to learn about lots of interesting jobs all in one place," says Paola Valinoti (UCL Management Science & Innovation), who attended the event in 2012.

"I talked to a wide range of recruiters to find out the realities of the work involved in their companies, collected business cards and got lots of vital information to help with future applications.  One recruiter contacted me directly after the event to request my CV. I interviewed shortly afterwards and was offered a permanent role."

Please note: places are limited so you must register to attend the UCL Jobs Market.
