11 December 2013

On Sunday 1 December, audiences at the Adelphi Theatre were treated to a special one off comedy night called The Royal Free Rocks with Laughter.

Provost and Julian Clary

The great, the good and the glitterati of the comedy world were assembled to perform as part of the event. Acts included Rowan Atkinson, Julian Clary, Harry Enfield and Harry Hill, plus writer of Sherlock and Doctor Who Mark Gatiss and his comedy partner Reece Shearsmith, who reunited for the first time in years to perform as The League of Gentlemen.

A full review of the evening's entertainment can be found on the Guardian website http://www.theguardian.com/stage/2013/dec/02/royal-free-rocks-with-laughter-review

The show was produced by Geoff Posner and David Tyler of Pozzitive TV and Phil McIntyre Entertainments to benefit the Royal Free Charity and all proceeds from the event went to support the new UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation at the Royal Free. The Institute will be the only global research centre for immunity and transplantation and will perform ground breaking research into the human immune system with the potential to save and improve the lives of people around the world.

Research at the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation will aid the development of new and more-effective treatments for immune diseases such as HIV, diabetes, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and try to improve the success rate of organ transplants.
