UCL Research Equipment Catalogue now live

11 April 2013

The new UCL Research Equipment Catalogue can now be accessed online.

The catalogue has been developed by the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Research) in response to a requirement from Research Councils UK and new equipment funding guidelines.

UCL is using the Kit-Catalogue software developed by Loughborough University to display data about equipment items of purchase value over £25k. This platform will encourage equipment sharing and collaboration by making visible all our research technologies/capabilities across all faculties at UCL.

Professor David Price, UCL Vice-Provost (Research), commented: "Research Councils now expect universities to identify all available equipment and reuse this where possible, and existing capital equipment must be considered before new items are proposed in RCUK grant applications. The new Catalogue will help to ensure greater utilisation of existing equipment and encourage research collaboration across UCL and beyond."
