How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is the society's first Bloomsbury show of the year. The production will be performed over three nights from Thursday 29 November to Saturday 1 December but, for the first time ever, the Musical Theatre Society will be performing in a matinee on Friday 30th for students and staff from Regent High School and the brand-new UCL Academy.

The collaboration between UCLU Musical Theatre Society and local schools will continue with a special production of Hairspray, in which students from these schools will join the cast. Auditions for Hairspray were held in late October, with UCL students going into both Regent High School and UCL Academy and considering auditions by more than 150 Year 7 to Year 12 students.

Sam Lansdale, Producer of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, described the project: "To bring the Hairspray project to life, I felt it would be super if we could get as many of the students as possible to watch the show to help encourage them to continue or take up the performing arts and provide a better understanding of the university lifestyle. The show is essentially a comedy so it will guarantee to have everyone laughing their socks off."

The show, which comes from the creators of Guys and Dolls, is a classic Broadway musical comedy about a wily window washer, J. Pierrepont Finch, who, with the aid of a trusty self-help book, enjoys a riotous rise up the corporate ladder at the World Wide Wicket Company.
