UCLU Arts Awards 2012

UCLU has announced the winners of their 2012 Arts achievement Awards.

UCLU Arts Awards 2012 Nominations for these awards are made by students, and the winners are chosen by a judging panel from the Activities Forum.

Some of the winners included:

Volunteering Society of the Year - Musical Theatre Society, for their weekly after school club for the children at St. Michael's primary school in Camden, where the main aim is to inspire underprivileged young children to embrace the theatre.

Best Publication - Pi Magazine, for the design and content of the magazine, which has included high profile interviews, well-researched articles, spotlights on bands and photography from around UCL.

Best Collaboration - Radio Plays, which is a new innovation that involves shows being written by members of the Young Writers Society, read out by the members of the Drama Society, and recorded by Rare FM.

Most Developed Arts Society - Drama Society, who have put on fourteen productions in the past year, have re-introduced their '24-hour plays' and held weekly workshops Along with several volunteering schemes within the community.

Best Overall Arts Society - Musical Theatre Society, for their delivery of two successful shows in the Bloomsbury Theatre and numerous other productions and also their work with other arts societies on inter-society events and for enriching the wider community with a number of volunteering projects.
