Royal Society's summer science exhibition

5 July 2012

What part of the brain makes us laugh and in what manner? For the next few days Professor Sophie Scott (UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience) has taken her laughter lab to the Royal Society's summer science exhibition.

Visit their stand, LOL: the science and art of laughter. Listen: BBC R4 Today (from 2hrs 43mins). More: Daily Mail, UCL video.

Also, a team of scientists from the UCL Institute of Healthy Ageing, in tandem with UCL's Bahler lab, will be exhibiting at this year's exhibition. Led by Dr Matt Piper, the IHA teams' stand is called Living healthier for longer: research to enhance lifelong health and aims to highlight, explain and discuss cutting edge biogerontological research and its recent breakthroughs that indicate we can experimentally manipulate ageing.

Royal Society Summer Science Exhibtion is held from 3rd to 8th July at the Society's Carlton House Terrace home.
