Superannuation Arrangements of the University of London (SAUL): statutory consultation (update)

Also available is the letter of 7 February 2012 from the Employers side of the SAUL Negotiating Committee who have written to the Trade Unions to confirm that while agreement was reached between the two sides, the Trade Unions could not fully support the proposals. If you wish to make a response or give your view, you should note the consultation closes 9 March 2012.

Changes to AVCs with effect from 1 April 2012

Important information about changes to how active members can build up benefits with Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) with effect from 1 April 2012 is available here. Members who are considering paying AVCs on the existing basis should note the deadline for SAUL to receive completed applications to pay AVCs is 1st March 2012.

Lump Sum AVC payments for tax year ending 2012

The deadline for SAUL to receive Lump Sum AVC applications is 29 February 2012. Further information about AVCs is available here.

Changes to transfers in to SAUL with effect from 1 April 2012

The Trustee has decided to alter the way it accepts transfers from arrangements outside the public sector with effect from 1st April 2012. Further details are available here. Members who are considering transferring in benefits from non-public sector arrangements should note the deadline for SAUL to receive completed applications to transfer in benefits from non-public sector into SAUL on the existing basis is 30th March 2012.
