Showcase your research in UCL's new gallery

1 August 2012

This year a new gallery is being created in the heart of UCL.

Flaxman gallery1 The Octagon Gallery, on the ground floor of the Wilkins Building, directly under the dome, will provide a prominent new space for changing exhibitions highlighting UCL's current research in a creative and visually stunning way, and showcasing UCL's world class collections.

The Octagon Gallery will open in November 2012, with a specially commissioned exhibition. From 2013, exhibitions in the gallery will be chosen through twice yearly competitions.

We are now launching the first competitive call for exhibition proposals for the new gallery. The theme is Frontiers. Proposals on this theme are invited from across the UCL community. Proposals must

  • feature current research being undertaken at UCL
  • be submitted by members of UCL staff and research students from at least two departments and result from cross-disciplinary working
  • demonstrate how the theme will attract the public

Winners will work with UCL's Exhibitions Officer and museum curators to create an exhibition that draws on UCL's museums and collections. The exhibition will open in May and will run until October 2013. For further details and a proposal form can be found here.
